The (M2P2) program allows future doctors to become immersed in what it takes to pursue the noble profession of medicine. Our enrolled students participate in a two day orientation to prepare them for hospital floor experience. After that, students complete three rotations where they shadow physicians that are two weeks long based on their interests. Previous rotations have included:
Anesthesia
Critical care
General surgery
Orthopedic surgery
Vascular surgery
Cardiology
Trauma surgery
Pediatrics
Emergency medicine
Internal medicine
OB/GYN
NICU
Pathology
Infectious Disease
Neurology
Neuro Surgery
In addition to an exceptional shadowing experience, students attend weekly didactics, and receive academic and career guidance from staff and volunteers.
The program also includes BLS certification (AED & CPR) that lasts for two years, and a trip to the Wayne State University School of Medicine. While at the medical school, students will be introduced to the dean or vice dean of the school, they will interact with the simulation robots, and visit the simulation clinic.
